I Am a Flag

Some thoughts from one of our residents and she wanted me to share them with you. It is a poem she wrote about our flag and what it means to her: I Am A Flag- Please raise me every morning. Please bring me in every night. You may leave me up every night with lights. When a person dies in office I am flown half staff. To make me half staff raise me up full staff then bring me down to half staff. This is done for 30 days. During some holidays they raise me half staff for one day. Please take care of me. If I am ripped or torn please take me down, make a small fire and burn me then take the ashes and place in a small hole and bury me. – Elizabeth T.
